WELCOME to the Rotary Club of Wilton website. Our club was chartered in May of 2002 and currently has 09 members.
It is my sincere hope that members and visitors alike will use this website to learn more about Rotary International and our club. Rotary was founded in 1905 in Chicago, Illinois and is composed of approximately 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries. Rotary is a “world wide organization that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps to build goodwill and peace in the world”. Each club is part of a District. Our club is a part of District 7190, which is comprised of 39 clubs and thousands of members in the upstate area.
The theme chosen by 2020-2021 Rotary International President Holgar Knaack for this year is “Rotary Opens Opportunities.” This theme envisions a world in which everyone has the best possible chance at survival and the opportunity to reach their goals and dreams. We are committed to realizing this purpose by supporting the humanitarian endeavors of Rotary International, including the Rotary Foundation’s goal of eliminating Polio worldwide.
I am thankful for the opportunity to lead our club and serve as President for the 2020-2021 year in a club with such rich heritage and history in the community. Each of our former Presidents has brought new ideas and visions to our club and my goal will be to continue that heritage. We can all be proud of our club’s 18 years of accomplishments. We have only begun establishing the deep roots that will both serve the growth of the Wilton community and our membership. Our club is comprised of many gifted and dedicated Rotarians, which makes us strong. I feel fortunate to be able to look to those members for inspiration and advice.
We have many events including our Annual Golf Tournament at Airway Meadows which is our major fund raiser for the year and in the winter we help with the Wilton Wildlife Preserve Ski Event and the Snowshoe Event among many other fun events. For the time being, due to the current pandemic, we meet every second and fourth Tuesday via Zoom from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
If you are a visiting Rotarian please join us for a weekly meeting. If you are interested in learning more about Rotary in our community, we encourage you to contact us. This website will assist you in finding information concerning meetings, future events and contacts. To find out more about Rotary visit the Rotary International website at www.rotary.org.
